About Serenity Supported Living

Putting children andyoung people first

We provide a safe, supportive place where young people can build independence, access support and prepare for adult life, with compassion and collaboration at the heart of everything we do.

Our story

Serenity Supported Living was set up to give young people leaving residential or foster care a safe and caring place to grow. Moving on from care is a big step, and nobody should have to take it alone. We offer semi-independent supported accommodation for young people aged 16 to 25 in Bradford and Shipley, where every young person has a home of their own within a shared house, a key worker who knows them well and a team that believes in what they can achieve.

We are committed to positively transforming the lives of young people, helping them transition into adulthood and make informed, effective decisions about their future.

What we believe

Our values are based on the fundamental right of every young person to live as independently as possible, with guidance to make positive choices and equal opportunities in every part of their life.

  • 01

    Safe

We keep ourselves and each other safe, and every young person has a secure, private space to call their own.

  • 02

    Respected

We respect every culture, belief and background, and we speak to and about each other with kindness, even when we disagree.

  • 03

    Included

We help young people stay connected to trusted people and become part of their local community.

  • 04

    Empowered

We help young people build the skills, confidence and knowledge to make their own choices and shape their own future.

The people behind your support

Our team is experienced, qualified and here for young people every day. There are day staff and waking night staff on duty every day, so someone is always available when they are needed. On every shift one member of staff coordinates the shift and each young person has their own allocated staff member for the day.

Young people shape how we work

We listen to young people every day and their views change how our homes are run.

  • Weekly key work

A private 1:1 every week to talk about goals, worries and ideas.

  • My views, wishes and feelings

A page young people can fill in and hand to staff whenever they want us to know something.

  • House meetings

Young people help plan menus, activities and shared decisions.

  • Independent advocacy

We can arrange an advocate so young people's views are heard and taken seriously.
