How to make a complaint

Most problems can be sorted out quickly by talking to us. If not, there is a clear process you can follow.

  1. 1

    Speak to your key worker

Tell your key worker or any member of staff what you are unhappy about and what you would like to happen. Raising it early gives us the chance to work with you to put it right. If we cannot help, we will put you in touch with people who can.

  2. 2

    Make a formal complaint

If you feel your concern has not been dealt with fully or fairly, you can make a formal complaint to our complaints officer. You can tell a member of staff, call us, write to us, use the form on this page or email info@serenitysupportedliving.uk.

  3. 3

    Investigation and outcome

Your complaint will be looked into promptly and fairly. We will gather information, speak to the people involved and tell you the outcome. If changes are needed, we will explain them to you.

We will acknowledge your complaint and tell you the outcome within the timescales in our complaints policy.

Not happy with the outcome?

You have the right to appeal. We will explain how to do this when we share the outcome with you. You can also contact your social worker, personal adviser or Bradford Children's Services, and for 16 and 17 year olds, Ofsted.

Our promise to you

  • Listened to

Every complaint and every piece of feedback is read and helps us improve.

Help to have your say

Independent advocacy

An advocate is someone independent who can listen to you, explain your rights and help make sure your views, wishes and feelings are heard. If you do not have one and would like one, speak to your key worker.

The Children's Commissioner

The Children's Commissioner for England helps children and young people up to 18, and up to 25 for care leavers, to be heard. You can talk to their Help at Hand team confidentially.

Questions about complaints

No. Raising a complaint will never affect the support you receive, and we do not tolerate retaliation of any kind.
